U.S. approves updated safety standard for infant swings and cradle swings (16 CFR 1223)

On May 30, 2024, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a direct final rule approving the update of the safety standard for infant swings and cradle swings (16 CFR 1223). The standard will take effect on September 14, 2024.

According to the new standard, each infant swing and cradle swing must comply with all applicable requirements of ASTM F2088-24 "Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Infant Swings and Cradle Swings" approved on February 1, 2024.
